The carbon footprint of packaging materials can vary depending on factors such as the manufacturing process, transportation, and end-of-life disposal. However, a study by the Flexible Packaging Association found that stand up pouches have a significantly lower carbon footprint than rigid packaging options like glass or plastic bottles.

According to the study, stand up pouches produced 93% less greenhouse gas emissions and required 98% less energy to produce compared to a typical glass jar. In addition, stand up pouches produced 90% less greenhouse gas emissions and required 80% less energy to produce compared to a typical plastic bottle.

Another study by the European Flexible Packaging Association found that flexible packaging, including stand up pouches, had a lower carbon footprint than rigid packaging options like glass or plastic bottles across all lifecycle stages.
