Moon Valley Organics partners with Xerces Society to protect pollinators!
The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is our top and one of the organizations that has helped us and our bees tremendously. Without them our pollinator sanctuary would not have come to fruition. They are an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats. As a science-based organization, they both conduct their own research and rely upon the most up-to-date information to guide their conservation work. Xerces' key program areas are: pollinator conservation, endangered species conservation, and reducing pesticide use and impacts.
Moon Valley Organics partners with PPAN to protect pollinators!
The People and Pollinators Action Network (PPAN)
People and Pollinators Action Network works to promote the health of people and pollinators in Colorado. PPAN works at every level from neighborhoods, to cities, state and federal to advocate to reduce the very urgent risks from pesticides and other landscape and agricultural practices. Through outreach, education and action, PPAN is building a grassroots movement and statewide coalition of people that care and act to improve the future for people, pollinators and the planet.
We are excited to collaborate with a grassroots organization in Colorado where many stores carry the Moon Valley Organics product line and the local customers who purchase Herbal Lip Balm to protect pollinators will see a profound impact right in their own backyard.
In addition, we are closely connected to PPAN's mission to discontinue the use of toxic pesticides. Herbicides and pesticides are among the biggest contributors to the decline of pollinator populations. We are proud to partner with PPAN to help promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, legislation, education, and research.
10% of Herbal Lip Balm net profits from June to October of 2015 were donated to PAN in an effort to protect pollinators.
We launched #HELPSAVETHEBEES! in June of 2015 and introduced the Pesticide Action Network (PAN) as our benefactor in the mission to HELP SAVE THE BEES!
Pesticide Action Network North America (PAN North America) works to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives. As one of five PAN Regional Centers worldwide, they link local and international consumer, labor, health, environment and agriculture groups into an international citizens’ action network. This network challenges the global proliferation of pesticides, defends basic rights to health and environmental quality, and works to ensure the transition to a just and viable society.
We are closely connected to PAN's mission to discontinue the use of toxic pesticides. Herbicides and pesticides are among the biggest contributors to the decline of pollinator populations. We are excited to partner with PAN to help promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, legislation, education, and research.
We are proud to announce our partnership with another pollinator friendly company! The Northwest Center for Alternatives to Pesticides works hard through education and demonstrations to help those be more "pest-aware" and ways to tackle them without the use of pesticides that can be harmful. They reach most of the Northwest United States which includes Washington, Idaho, Northern California, Oregon, and Western Montana. They also are hugely involved with policy changing for improvements for everyone. Their three main areas of focus are:
- Healthy Food and Farms
- Healthy People and Communities
- Healthy Wildlife and Water
They seek the safest and best alternatives, and when there are none, they push for more research to find them. They research and reference the science behind both their cautions and their solutions. They work at many levels using many different strategies – all toward the larger goal of advancing alternatives and moving away from pesticides. We are so thankful to be paired up with this amazing and LOCAL organization to help move towards a cleaner environment!
